At Home with Rebekka Notkin

“My home has the same air as my boutique, with rich colors, tactile materials and fresh flowers, but without the scent of the noble materials and precious stones, of course. Here I love spending time in my garden, trying out new dishes in my kitchen, throwing parties for dear friends, talking for hours on end with my husband or drawing and paper cutting with my children, when the house is not filled with their friends for sleepovers.”

No matter the number of guests or family members, the tables of Rebekka Notkin’s home are always decorated with antique vases full of fresh flowers from the garden or the nearby florist, and the walls are filled with one of her great passions: art.

“I always keep my eyes and heart open at galleries and auctions and buy, what I can’t live without, whether it is modern photography, lithographs, paintings, sculptures or antique jewellery boxes. I am particularly fond of the eclectic style of Art Deco from an epoque where art and architecture gave weight to both elegance and functionality. The luxurious and surprising diversity of this style and the many compositions of patterns, materials and shapes are a great inspiration.”
